The EU-funded EVERGLASS project and the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences are organising a summit for glass circularity on July 27-30, 2026 in Koblenz, Germany.
Although glass is seen as infinitely recyclable, in reality different sectors have widely different recycling rates. Europe is good at recycling container glass, but other types, such as flat glass, still have gaps in their recycling rates.
The four-day event invites industry professionals, young researchers, and students to work on real-world challenges related to glass circularity. The summit encourages participants from all disciplines to find new ways to use glass more efficiently and to close these material loops.
The key topics are:
- cradle-to-cradle design of glass products
- additive manufacturing with glass
- glass recycling and loop-closing strategies
- smart manufacturing and design for sustainability
All ideas are celebrated with different awards. The Circularity Frontiers Summit on Glass creates a protected space to explore without fixed answers or rigid boundaries. It is a place to think out of the box, to connect with others, and to imagine what circular glass systems could look like when creativity and collaboration take the lead.
In addition to addressing the challenges, the agenda includes field excursions to the nearby glass industry and networking lunches and dinners.
The summit is free to attend, and registration is now open.
